Hello there! I'm delighted that you came to check out my book. My name is Dave Kristula and I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease (also known as Hodgkin's Lymphoma), a cancer of the lymphatic system, when I was fifteen-years-old.

With the help of family and friends (I consider all my doctors, nurses, and all the other support staff as friends!) I made it through several months of chemotherapy, a month of radiation, and later a bone marrow transplant.

I started writing The Crumpled Note because I wanted people like you (patients, survivors, and the people who love and care for them) to have a story they could relate to, that would make them certain that people can and do survive cancer. I wanted people to realize that none of us are just a number, we're not just the nameless millions, but we're all unique, ONE-IN-A-MILLION, (ONE-IN-6.2-BILLION but who's counting?), and we all have a story to tell.
